Privacy policy
My Korea Benefits (“the site”) respects your privacy. This page explains what data is collected and how it is used. It is a standard template reflecting the core requirements of the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and must be reviewed against what this site actually collects. It is not legal advice.
1. What we collect
- Cookies and similar technologies — to recognise visitors, store your consent choice, and support analytics and advertising.
- Analytics data (Google Analytics 4) — pages viewed, referral path, approximate location, device and browser information (pseudonymised).
- Advertising data (Google AdSense) — cookies and identifiers used to serve and measure ads.
- Server logs — IP address, request time, user agent (security and operations).
Analytics and advertising cookies are blocked until you consent (Google Consent Mode v2).
2. Why we use it
- To deliver the content and operate and improve the site
- To measure traffic (only with analytics consent)
- To serve and measure advertising (only with advertising consent)
- To prevent abuse and maintain security
Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis is your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site for server logs.
3. Third parties
We use Google LLC for analytics and advertising, and data may be transmitted to and processed by Google. Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses data from sites that use its services
- Google Ads Settings (opt out of personalised ads)
4. International transfers
Data may be transferred to and stored on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on the safeguards operated by the third parties named above, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
5. Cookies and managing your consent
Analytics and advertising cookies are used only where you have given consent for that specific purpose. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may then not work.
6. Retention
Your consent choice is stored in your own browser (local storage). Retention of analytics and advertising data follows Google’s policies and the site’s configured retention settings, after which it is deleted.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
- EU / UK (GDPR) — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection to processing, withdrawal of consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA) — the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Note that serving personalised advertising may constitute “sharing” under the CPRA. You can opt out via the consent settings above or through Google Ads Settings. To exercise any right, contact us below.
